The Purpose of a Hearing Test
A hearing test allows an audiologist to diagnose your hearing. It’s an opportunity to evaluate your hearing function and determine if there’s a problem with the auditory processes of your ear. Also, a hearing test can indicate the need for additional diagnostics, such as an MRI or vestibular testing to diagnose balance or dizziness. The results of a hearing test will show us whether a hearing aid is necessary to improve your communication ability and quality of life.
What to Expect During Testing
Echo Hearing Systems & Audiology, Inc. offers a complimentary appointment that includes an audiometric examination. During this consultation, an audiologist will discuss the results of your test and diagnose your degree of hearing loss. Once your test is complete, our audiologists will help you begin the process of finding solutions to treat the hearing loss. Some of our services include the following:
– Hearing aid demonstration and fitting
– Assisted listening devices (TV streaming)
– Hearing consultations with individuals and family members
– Medical referrals if necessary
We also offer a free online hearing test that takes five minutes to complete. This online test is not a substitute for a comprehensive examination by a medical professional, but it can help you gauge if you’re currently suffering from hearing loss.
Earigator Treatment
Did you know that earwax buildup is a common cause of hearing loss? With the Earigator, we can gently remove earwax to help improve your hearing. This instrument uses warm, pressurized water to gently and safely clear accumulated wax from your ear canals. Treatment with the Earigator can be completed in our Powell, Grove City, Worthington and Upper Arlington office (fees apply and not included in free visit).
